AIF ! ...New Job and "Fair Weather" friends.

Ya RabbiSalli a’laa Muhammad – O Lord, bestow blessings upon Muhammad (saw)Habbibikash Shaafiail Mushaffa’a – Your Loved One that You grant the power of Intercession.

Alhamdullilah, Its Friday….

I feel so bless today. There seems to be a calming feeling in my heart. No matter how bad my week was, Fridays are usually calming to me.

I have been reading “The Glittering Illumination – A Maulid Eulogy in Remembrance of the Intercessor Prophet ( saw )"

May Allah Bless Pilot AbdulKader AlHadad for his English Translation of the Maulid and Commentary.

Its really nice reading the sirah of Rasullulah (saw). My friend says that reading about Rasullulah (saw) is syifa’. It like chicken soup for the soul kan ?? Its is Syifa’ to me.

Everytime I read about Rasullulah’s (saw) childhood and how he grew up and how he learnt Iqra and got Wahyu and how he preached with my humbleness, I put myself in his era and wonder what it would have been like to live in his community. What was it like to lived with the sahabahs.
Have you ever thought of that ?

O my eyes are tearing. I love our Prophet (saw) so much and when my plans to hold a mualid was crushed by a certain individual, I feel pain. So much Pain that it might turn to hatred. I wonder how Rasullulah (saw) would feel when He knew that plans for a maulid for Him was made so difficult and eventually happily squashed with an iron fist. Im really sorry. I tried. Anyway, since the plans are just memories now, sis and me have decided to celebrate it amongst people who really want to celebrate it. So we will go to the masjid on the 13th with our Ustaz to celebrate it. May we receive Allah’s (swt) Rahmat there.

…… Hubby has started to clear his leave. He has gotten a new job and will be leaving his current company after 8 long year. After so many rejections, attaining this job was a breeze. See, If Allah (swt) wants to give, no one can stop it.

Alhamdullilah, He is excited about the move despite having some fond memories of his old work place. Things are going to change as his new office will now be in Changi instead of Town area. Hubby says the thing he will miss most was walking to Masjid Alfalah for Zohor and staying for the kuliah after that. The nearest mosque in Changi is Masjid Istigfar, tu pun kena drive there…

No longer are we going to take the train together too. Oh I dread that. Ive become too clingy. Now, he’ll drive to his office instead. Masyaallah dear… eversince I knew you, we went to work together. And now, I’ll be alone in the train. I’ll probably bring a book now. I’ll miss going to work with hubby. Its like bitter sweet symphony for me.

Alhamdullilah, rezeki bertambah but most probably less time together. Hubby is willing to work hard. I keep reminding hubby that no matter what, we must always remain HUMBLE. Allah (swt) can give, and Allah (swt) can take almost instantly. I know many well-to-do Muslims who are humble and always willing to help others.

Hubby reminded me that When Allah (swt) gives us more rezeki, more blessings, we must heightened our Ibadah. Almarhum Ustaz Ahmad Semait ever mentioned in his class that Is it fair that we do the normal ibadah like a normal person if Allah (swt) gives us more blessings ?

I said Of course not. We must do more to show our thankfulness. May we have the strength to do more Ibadah.

Hubby and me were also discussing “fair weather” friends reasonly. Unfortunately, eversince we got married, we do know a few people who are “fair weather” friends to us. When hubby was still studying, and had no car, and money was really tight, there were some people who did somehow look down on us..............It really pains hubby, I knew it did cos he mention to it to me, meaning its was substantial. Now that things have change for the better, that certain people seems to be friendlier and give us more respect. Hubby told me Be careful of “Fair weather” friends. I certainly will.

So from the new job, to the fair weather friends, I guess my main concern now should be on my son. It is very important to educate our son with the right Islamic qualities now. Cousin Tanti and me were discussing upbringing topics and she said if her children were to grow up being materialistic, she would consider herself a failure. Not many parents says such things now a days…..

But she is right. If Little Habib grew up thinking that money makes the world go round, indeed me and hubby have failed.

Hubby and me now keep showing Little Habib what we think are good examples. We point out these good examples to him hoping that it will be embedded in his heart. Children absorb easily kan.

Education is important, but Taqwa my son, and Akhlaqul Karim is what you should have. Allah (swt) will make your path calm if you have Taqwa.

Innallàha wa malâikatahû yusallûna 'alan-nabiyy, ayyuhalladhîna âmanû sallû alayhi wa sallimû taslîmâ. (Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect.) 33:56

Salaams sis Nor...

sad isnt it when people base good relations on the status of the person.

sometimes a few 'selected' friends may brings more happiness than many friends.

Congrats on everything...alhamdulillah. Your son will grow up to be just like their nice parents insya'Allah.

Because I have so few friends, there's no 'fair weather' friends...haha...but keeping in touch with friends are always so difficult. All of us so busy.
