Al Fateha please...

Initially, I wanted to blog about my maiden trip on the Singapore Flyer last Monday morning. I took pictures and all ( not that i liked it ). But then something happened.

Monday afternoon, my sis msn me and told me the sad news. My mum tried to call me earlier but I missed the call....I headed out of the office straight away.

I can still hear her voice, I can still hear her chuckle, I can still hear the advices she gave me on marriage life, I can still remember her in my house whenever there is an occasion. As I am typing this, my eyes are watery because, my favourite Nani has left this world.

Death hits you when you least expect it. I never knew she would go this fast and I never had the chance to say good bye.

She was married to one of my most pious nana. She has 4 children whom I admire and am close to. Her little grandchildren are so dear to me.

My fondest memories of nani midah was that she was a avid matchmaker and she teaches ngaji and she was my mum's confidante. She's very close to my mum and my family and we will include her family in major events. Almost all suitors who come to my house to see me was greeted by my her and my family. During my wedding, she was was there throughout and after my wedding, she constantly advised me on the roles of a good wife. Eventhough nana chik passed away so many years ago, I had clung on to his memories through her. And now that she has left us, In my life, her children and grandchildren will be her legacy.

Alhamdullilah, nani died while fasting, in her wudhuk and her quran was in her bag next to her. This must be her reward for teaching iqra' to many neighbourhood kids. May she be granted Husnul Khotima. Yesterday, at masjid gufran, Mufti Syed Isa Semait led the solat jenazah. Many ustaz were also in the jemaah and I could see my hubby jostling for a front spot as he wanted to usung the jenazah. Alhamdullilah, he managed to. There is alot of pahala involved when you usung the jenazah, even more if you follow it to the cemetery.

On a happy note, I went to my quran reading class yesterday for my second lesson. Alhamdullilah, I can read better, less stops and a better flow. The key to this improvement is practise. 1 page a day to be more fasih.

I might reach Masjid Baitul Aman some time this week. Insya'allah May Allah ( swt ) protect us and give blessings to our good intentions.

I'll take pictures. Insya'allah.

Jazakillah Khairan ladies for the kind words.

Time will heal my pain. Death leaves out no one. I just need to learn to embrace it.
