Al Akhlaq Kul Karim @ Masjid Aleem Siddique

Yesterday night, Hubby and me went to Masjid Aleem Siddique for the talk by Habib Thohir Abdullah Alkaff from Indonesia.

It was time well spent, my only regret was I didnt bring Little Habib with me. I had thought that the Muslimah area would be packed, just like the time when Habib Umar Bin Hafiz was there, but actually, there were a total of only 15 muslimahs in the crowd.
It wasnt much of a crowd too for the men side was also not crowded. It was the same old usual faces.

I could have brought Little Habib along, since he was very quiet when I brought him to masjid Ansar for the 2nd time last Thursday. Anyway Little Habib turned 9mths yesterday, and he has since progress to say ''DADA'' a name he calls my father. His crawling skill have also progress to a faster speed. Alah Buchuk Ummi. Muacks.

Okie back to the ceramah.

Habib Thohir is actually the student of the late ulama' from Mecca Habib Mohamed Al Maliki.

He started of the talk by saying that in surah Al Baqarah, it is stated that there will be many challenges given by Allah s.w.t to us when we want to do ibadat EG: going to the mosque but if Allah s.w.t gives us Taufiq, we will be able to go. Those who do not get Taufiq from Allah s.w.t will not be able to make it to the mosque so we must always pray for Taufiq.

One of the garden of heavens is actually majlis ilmu / zikrullah. So if we go to majlis ilmu, we are actually sitting in the gardens of heavens, the Raudha.
How we spend our time in this world will be shown in Akhirat. Our life is like a filem thats being recorded, and the video will be played in front of Allah s.w.t and all to see.
At that moment, we will cry looking at ourselves doing things such as maksiat or unconstructive things like hanging out at clubs, sitting at joints doing nothing, but these tears will not save us, because Allah s.w.t have said in the Quran and also through our prophet Muhammad s.a.w of what if his rules and how we should lead our lives.
But if we have spend our time going to majlis Ilmu, we will be happy to look at ourselves as hamba Allah s.w.t who had followed Rasullulah s.a.w advise to seek ilmu, busy ourselves to heightend our amal soleh. This should be our hope. As our age progress, we can do amalan yang diredai Allah s.w.t di Dunia and we will be mukmins yang sejati di Akhirat.

Yesterday's topic was Al Akhlaq Kul karim or Budi Perkerti Yang Baik.

When talking about Aklaq, we should always refer to Rasullulah s.a.w as he has thought us the guidance to good Aklaq and has shown many examples to good Aklaq eg good ibadah, good parenting, good business manners, good neighbourly manners.

Habib Thohir said, whats is the use of having high Ilmu but do not have good Aklaq ? If one do not have good Ahlaq, Rasullulah s.a.w will not face us when in Akhirat.

Ever since young, Rasullulah s.a.w had good Akhlaq. No one has ever heard Rasullulah s.a.w said anything dirty such as a 'bad word'. He has never told lies or looked down on anyone.
Once, during the Hajj season, Rasullulah s.a.w berdakwa ajaran Allah to the people of Medinah and Yemen who had came to Mecca. This made the people of Mecca unhappy as Rasullulah s.a.w teachings were not the same to what their ancestors have thought them.

So they said Rasullulah s.a.w is a liar, but someone said in the crowd '' NO he is not, I have never heard him telling a lie.''

Then they say Rasullulah s.a.w is a tukang sihir, but someone in the crowd said '' No he is not, I have never seen him practising witchcraft.''

Then someone said Rasullulah s.a.w is a Dukun, but someone in the crowd said '' No he is not, I have never seen him do blackmagic.''

So the Jahils could not say anything as their Batin knows that Rasullulah s.a.w is telling the truth but they had to say it in Zahir.
But Rasullulah s.a.w kept patient.

Habib told the Taif incident story where even the children were told to mock at Rasullulah s.a.w. But Rasullulah s.a.w doa that one day, the Taif residents would follow his teachings, if not them then hopefully, their children and grandchildren. And Today, the people of Taif are all following rasullulah s.a.w teachings.

We should all follow Rasullulah s.a.w Aklaq. His family, wives, sahaba have never heard anything bad from Rasullulah s.a.w. Once someone asked Siti Aishah ( r.a ) to tell him of Rasullulah s.a.w aklaq. Now how was she going to explain since Rasullulah s.a.w had so many good attributes ? But the smart Aishah said '' Aklaq Rasullulah s.a.w is the quran Nur Karim. What was beings asked to do in the Quran, Rasullulah s.a.w did and what was asked to NOT do in the Quran, Rasullulah s.a.w did not do.''

Good relations should exist between siblings, neighbours and between the clever and the less knowledgeble.
The fortunate should feel sad for the less fortunate.
The young should respect the elder, the elder shoud love the young.
We must respect our teachers, ustazs and ustazahs because they have high amount of Ilmu. If these respect does not exist, how can we say we are UMAT Rasullulah s.a.w ?

Habib said he remembered a story about a wali Allah s.w.t Habib Hussein Bin Muhammad bin Thohir AlHadad.
Habib Hussein had gone to Bogor to visit his brother habib Alawi AlHadad. Now we all know that Bogor is very cold at night.
So came night fall, Habib Hussein slept on the cold floor. When his brother saw him, he asked Habib Hussein why he was not sleeping on the bed where its warmer ?
Habib Hussein said '' How can I sleep on the bed ? I am scared that if you my brother wake up in the middle of the night to solat Tahajjud on the cold floor and I am on the warm bed, where is my respect is my respect for you my brother ?''
Such is the ahlaq of a wali Allah s.w.t.

Habib Thohir also mention that if anyone has said anything bad to us or speak ill of us, we must show them our better side.
He told us of the story of Habib Umar whose wife had just given birth. So his students were all going to visit him bringing coffe powder as a gift.
On the way to Habib Umar's house, his student met with a man who asked them where the were going. The students said excitedly that they were going to visit their teacher Habib Umar who just got a baby.
The man looked unhappy and say his donkey had also just given birth. This made the students angry and walked off to habib Umar's house.
When they arrived at habib Umar's house, habib Umar asked them what had happened along the way. At first, they were reluctant to say what they heard, but soon, one of the sudents narrated the story of what the man had said. Habib Umar just smiled.
After the students were all done with visit, Habib Umar told them to bring him to see the man whose donkey had just given birth. When they arrived at the man's house, Habib Umar knocked on the door. When the man opened the door, he was shocked to see Habib Umar. But habib Umar said with a smile, '' Congratulations, we are all here to offer you this coffee powder as a gift as we had heard your Donkey had just given birth ! ''.
The man was so embarrased and ashamed that Habib could still offer him a gift after he has childed Habib Umar. Soon after, the man repented and became habib Umar's student.
This is call Aklaq nabawiya. Following the aklaq of Rasullulah s.a.w.

Habib also told us many other stories such as how Imam Abu Hanafi helped his jewish neighbour to get out of prison eventhough his neighbour had disturbed him on many nights with the sound of the guitar and eventhough his neighbour was a non muslim.

Also about the story of how Rasullulah s.a.w helped Abu Lahab out of the hole which Abu Lahab had fallen in when he forgot he had digged the hole to make Rasullulah s.a.w fall in when Rasullulah s.a.w was on the way to the mosque for Subuh Prayers.

Rasullulah s.a.w always returned bad things done to him with good things. We should not say '' Alah tu nabi, kita bukan nabi, kita manusia biasa.'' No we cannot say that. Rasullulah s.a.w did all these so that it will be an example to his Umat.

Habib Thohir said he was sad to read that Islam has been labelled terorrist, evil, murderers. Actually, this is not Islam. This is not the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. This is his umats doing. So we cannot blame Islam. But the sad thing is, people have labelled Islam as such.

In Akhirat, our main aim is to get the syafaat of Rasullulah s.a.w. No matter how high we think is our Ibadah, or our ilmu, It may not be enough when its being weight against our bad deeds. Only with Syafaat Rasullulah s.a.w can we be saved.
Rasullulah s.a.w have promised us that he will stand near the well to give us water to quench our thirst during the day of resurrection before ( some ulama's says after ) we cross the Silatulmustaqim bridge. We always forget that we have to cross silatulmustaqim but it us a scary bridge that we must never forget because Hell us underneath it. Even the companions of the prophet who are solihins are scared of this bridge.

In Akhirat, our legs, hands , eyes, will all speak to save us in front of Allah s.w.t , and Rasullulah s.a.w will stand beside us to give us syafaat. What will we do if Rasullulah s.a.w dont want to give us syafaat ?
He will not give us syafaat if we do not follow his teachings and if we hurt him but doing bad things. Will Allah s.w.t save us if his beloved do not want to ? Think about it....

So are we all ready to face rasullulah s.a.w in akhirat with what little amalan that we have ?

Ikutlah Aklaq Nabawiya, Akhlaq Muhammadiya , Akhlaq Rasullulah.

HABIB Thohir ended off the ceramah with a teary doa. Everyone in the room Im sure felt the need to change. Insyallah.

And we ended our visit to Masjid Alleem Siddique with a small feast of Curry daging with roti. Hmm I could see hubby eating 2 rounds, as he finish off Habib Thohir's leftover.. ''Hubby.. hairan lah... makan banyak pun tak gemok2.'' Heee.....
